#HitmansWifesBodyguard directed by Patrick Hughes and written by Tom O’Connor and Brandon and Phillip Murphy. The film is a sequel to the 2017 film The Hitman’s Bodyguard and features Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, Salma Hayek, and Richard E. Grant reprising their roles, with Frank Grillo, Tom Hopper, Antonio Banderas, and Morgan Freeman joining the cast. In the film, suspended bodyguard Michael Bryce (Reynolds) must once again team up with hitman Darius Kincaid (Jackson) and his wife (Hayek) to stop a madman (Banderas) from launching a terror attack on Europe.
Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard (2021) - Storyline/Plot:
Michael Bryce is ready to give up on becoming a bodyguard again and make peace with it, until Sonia Kincaid finds him and begs for his assistance. She needs his assistance in retrieving her hitman husband Darius, when he is kidnapped by mobsters. After bringing him back, they are captured by Interpol agent Bobby O’Neill, who requires their assistance in finding a terrorist mastermind called Aristotle Papadopoulos, who intends to damage the European power system and infrastructure because the European Union is preparing to put additional sanctions on Greece.
The three get into further problems, with Bryce bearing most of the physical brunt of their confrontations. After receiving assistance from his bodyguard stepfather, Bryce Senior, the three are kidnapped by Aristotle’s thugs. He has a past with Sonia because he was deceived by Sonia even though he really fell in love with her. After turning her against Darius Kincaid, he and Bryce are forced to leave. To make things worse, Senior reveals out to be working with Aristotle and turns his back on Bryce.
Bryce and Kincaid put aside their differences and work together to rescue Sonia and stop Aristotle. After murdering Aristotle’s henchmen, they interrupt his plot to use a power drill to get into the European electrical system and battle Aristotle and Senior. Bryce murders Senior while Kincaid and Sonia kill Aristotle. Bryce manages to press the manual override to destroy the spacecraft and halt the drill, and the three manage to escape the explosion. O’Neill explains they have to remain on the boat for 48 hours together before being cleared and released, then gives Bryce paperwork to sign which he believes is his AAA license. Bryce signs them only to find out they are adoption papers for him to be the son of Sonia and Kincaid.
Review of Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard (2021 Film):
This isn’t the worst film ever produced, not even the worst film in this century, but… Half the picture consists of the actors’ duplicates, which usually would be terrible, but in this instance, each of the main actors performs such a horrible job that it’s as relief not to have to look at their poor acting. Yes, some performers are worse than others, but they are all terrible. Really awful. “Bad” as if you should utilize excerpts from this film in an ac ting lesson. But why pick on the actors? The writing is terrible. The imagery is poor and the music is inoffensive. Also, so much of this trash is shot on sets that should be an embarrassment to the producers. Like I stated in the headline, better than terrible, but just a bit.
